Project Buyer – R&D

MasterSearch are currently working with one of the leading international manufacturers of sensors and measuring instruments for factory and process automation.

Our client is looking for a Project Buyer to become part of their product development team.  Seize the opportunity to contribute your purchasing know-how and your affinity for technical products to purchasing for R&D. Within this role you will also have a significant influence on the successful development of new, innovative products.

Main responsibilities:

• You are responsible for all purchasing issues within the framework of product development projects at the Berlin location.
• You conduct purchasing negotiations with suppliers and, together with the project managers, make decisions on the award of contracts
• As a project member, you are closely involved in our agile development projects and accompany the product development processes with an agile mindset
• You take responsibility for cost transparency and continuously optimize it
• They ensure the timely and quality-compliant delivery of pre-series parts
• You define the supplier requirements and select suppliers in coordination with strategic purchasing
• You are proactively involved in the acquisition of new suppliers, with a focus on ensuring manufacturability and process stability

Profile:

• A degree in business administration or industrial engineering or comparable training
• Negotiating skills and assertiveness in a global environment to achieve the best possible delivery conditions
• Several years of professional experience in project purchasing in a technical environment, ideally for mechanical components
• Enjoys taking responsibility for product costs and optimizing them with pronounced cost awareness
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally with SAP
• High affinity for technical components and technical understanding
• Ability and pleasure to get involved in an agile development environment

Languages:

Fluent in English and at least B2 in German
