Key Account Manager – Metallurgy

MasterSearch are currently working with the machine division of a world-leading provider of sustainable productivity applications. Their solutions are a key part of most industries – electronics, medical research, renewable energy, food production, infrastructure and many more.

Our client is looking for a Key Account Manager to join their market leading machine division and dynamic sales team. Working with the latest technologies and groundbreaking, sustainable innovations, you will be responsible for the entire client process from offering and contract negation  up to successful conclusion, looking after the client every step of the way within the respective sales territory with a specific industry focus.

Reporting line – Sales Director Metallurgy

Main responsibilities:

  • Consultative sales of capital equipment in a multi-state region (DACH, BENELUX) to support primary metals producers (steel, aluminium, copper) and OEMs for the metals industry
  • Responsible for the entire offering and contract negotiation process up to successful conclusion through continuous visits to customers in the respective sales territory
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to explain a value proposition to varying levels of an organization
  • Identify key account decision makers and build strategic relationships
  • Analyse the market and competitive situation in order to define customer potential
  • Work with the customers and internal team (engineering, sales- and product-management) to ensure the equipment meets or exceeds the customer requirements
  • Provide market feedback and competition benchmark information to marketing and product development teams
  • Create a yearly business plan that outlines the key growth initiatives, strategic goals and tactics for the assigned territory as well as a comprehensive market analysis for all potential sources of revenue

Profile:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, business administration or related field
  • At least 3+ years of technical sales experience of products and systems
  • Machine vision or equipment / Machinery sales within the Metallurgy industry would be a plus
  • Effective communication skills in English and in German to establish customer rapport and acceptance
  • The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers
  • Independent and goal-oriented way of working
  • Commitment to overnight travel
  • Competence in IT-tools, i.e MS Office knowledge of SalesForce is an advantage
