Director of Global Quality

Company:

MasterSearch are currently working with a leader within the Connectivity industry for Industrial Machinery with over $10 Billion in revenue last year.

Our client is looking for a strategic, proven Director of Global Quality to be responsible to take the quality organisation to the next level within 4 business units across 15 plants globally.

Reporting line – Vice President of Operations

Main responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the quality strategy and plans (including resource, systems, time schedule and financials), to support, contribute to, and integrate within the organisations short and long-term business plan
• Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards/targets
• Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction while driving down costs
• Responsible for Customer Quality Relations and to lead Extraordinary Customer Experience initiatives
• Focal point to manage major customer issues
• Responsible for Supplier Quality and development
• Interface with Engineering to ensure AQP tools are properly utilized within all new products/programs
• Support Lean-initiatives both to optimize/standardize processes as well as to achieve defined targets
• Continuously work with business leaders to seek and leverage process improvement
• Ensure best practices and lessons learned in the Quality Department are appropriately transferred across all plants and functions
• Establish effect cross site and cross department communications
• Provides leadership, drives organizational capability, sets objectives and supports the creation of development plant for Central Quality teams, leading to continuous improvement of the Quality processes and the adoption of best practices
• Promote a culture that reflects the company’s values, encourages outstanding performance and promotes a positive work environment, as well as strengthening the global team spirit within and across other functions. Reward productivity as part of an ongoing process to establish the company as an employer of choice
• Recruit, develop, coach and mentor candidates to create a best-in-class Quality organization to ensure every customer opportunity is maximized

Profile:

• Bachelors degree education in an Engineering topic is preferred
• 8+ years experience in various Quality, Engineering (Product and process engineering) and/or Operational assignments in a High mix / low Volume industry
• Excellent management experience with the ability to manage by influence, in an international / Matrix organization
• Strong background in Root cause analysis, Lean process and Continuous Improvement systems
• Six Sigma degree is preferable
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Culturally sensitive, gained thanks to significant expose to international projects
• Global mindset to think about the global perspective but act with local requirements
• Strong agility to navigate in complex organizations, to adapt, to change and to solve complex issues
• High potential, to move to more Senior Global roles within the next 5 years
