Business Development Manager – Labs

Company:

MasterSearch are currently working with a market leader in 3D optical surface profiling and thin-film thickness measurement systems.

Our client is seeking a high-energy Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to be responsible for growing accounts and winning new business within the Optical Microscopy, Nano-indenters, thin-film measurement equipment product groups, plus more.

Reporting line – Sales Director

Main responsibilities:

  • Prospect for leads and maintain a significant opportunity pipeline to assure ongoing growth
  • Manage and growth current accounts within the region
  • Meet or exceed all quarterly and annual sales objectives for assigned geographical area
  • Develop detailed knowledge of customers within the region who are typically scientists doing materials research in academic universities, government research labs or industrial research/QA-QC labs
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical sales plans to achieve short/long term objectives
  • Provide ‘Voice of the Customer’ input for product. development/improvement on a continuous basis
  • Provide timely information on competitive activities within the region and overall marketplace
  • Supervise sales metrics and maintain complete activity records on CRM platform
  • Deliver accurate product sales forecasts through close management of sales opportunities

Profile:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science or Engineering undergraduate degree.
  • At least 3 years experience in direct sales of analytical instrumentation or test systems or related products
  • Knowledge in optical metrology, nano indentation or thin film metrology would be beneficial
  • Ability to work as part in a multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared goals with an understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Ability to deliver effective technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers
  • Result-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills along with attention to detail
  • Experience with Miller Heiman or Conceptual Sales techniques and Salesforce CRM is a plus
