Area Sales Manager – Southern Germany

MasterSearch are currently working with a MasterSearch are currently working with a Global Leader in Safety, Flame and Gas Detection Systems.

Our client is looking for an Area Sales Manager to join their team in Southern Germany and be responsible for selling a strong product portfolio across a number of exciting industries.

Reporting line – Sales Director DACH & France

Main responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a regional sales plan that meets or exceeds established sales quotas and supports the company’s sales and profit targets.
  • Implementation of sales presentations and seminars.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the company’s core products by successfully completing the required sales and technical training program and use this knowledge to successfully sell the stationary gas and flame detection solutions to new and existing customers in assigned territories.
  • Achieve the territory’s revenue and margin target by selling to end users, specialty retailers, integrators, and implement an effective customer care and administrative structure that meets the territory’s revenue growth expectations.
  • Ensure that territory strategies align with company objectives, including ethical codes of conduct.
  • Daily use of the company CRM (SalesForce.com), ERP and other IT tools (to provide customer information, forecasts and reports)
  • Meet regularly with existing customers and prospects in the sales territory to understand their evolving business needs
  • Work effectively with other internal departments such as Marketing, Inside Sales & Customer Service, Field Service, Product Management, Project Management, Application Engineering.
  • You will participate in sales meetings, conferences, trade fairs and trade association meetings and promote the Group’s product solutions and brands.
  • The position requires intensive travel in your area. You spend an average of 3-4 days at the customer’s site; to key end-users, end-users, retailers and other market participants. in the area.

Profile:

  • Detailed market knowledge in the field of gas detectors & flame detectors or similar industries.
  • You have a professional field service record (5+ years) of products requiring explanation at a high level of performance and proven success.
  • Proven ability to communicate at all levels, both externally and internally.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain effective customer networks.
  • Proven effectiveness in new business development and lead qualification
  • Engineering and/or Business School degree
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; French language skills are an advantage.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Effective team player with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
