Area Sales Manager – EMEA

MasterSearch are currently working with a Global processing and packaging machine manufacturer for the Pharmaceutical and food industries.

Our client is looking for an Area Sales Manager to support the European sales team in all aspects of the Sales process.

Reporting line – Technical Sales Director

Main responsibilities:

• Consider and sift enquiries in consultation with Technical Sales Director to assess merit of progressing these to the proposal stage
• Support European Sales Representatives and Agents in all aspects of the Sales Process.
• Gather enough information to enable a proposal to be compiled and generated in consultation with Engineering Team
• Present proposal to the customer
• Win the order with customer
• Ensure customer is fully satisfied with the machinery supply
• Liaise with Technical Sales Director who will progress the pre and post order activity
• Travel to customers will be essential, and the successful candidate will be expected to maintain a full British Passport and be happy to travel within the region

Profile:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in selling Packaging Machinery and/or capital goods within the food industry or other global markets is desirable, however exceptional candidates from other backgrounds would be considered
• Experience of selling by direct channels and through agents essential
• Experience creating and leading training events
• An understanding of forecasting and achieving agreed sales targets
• Proficient user of Microsoft packages i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint to advanced level, and CRM systems
• Willingness to travel to support colleagues and Agents within the EMEA region
• Engineering/technical qualifications required preferably HNC/degree level or equivalent and/or considerable exposure to engineering solutions based sales preferably with blue chip companies globally

Languages:

Fluent in English, Fluency in one or more European language – desirable but not essential
