Applications Engineering Manager

MasterSearch are currently working with large and rapidly expanding market leader in automation solutions which boost the dynamic and expanding semiconductor, multi-market, and life sciences lab markets.

Our client is looking for their next Applications Engineering Manager to help promote and accelerate their current growth journey as a company. The Applications Engineering Manager position will be a customer facing position leading the regional Applications Engineering team that works closely with, and promotes, their OEM and end-user customers.

Main responsibilities:

• Primary ownership for the European Applications Engineering team, representing your team and being their advocate. Partner with Sales, Product Engineering, Product Marketing to identify, assess and prioritize potential customers and applications of our products
• Drive your team to focus on providing solutions that maximize re-use of existing configurations, assemblies, to reduce engineering burden
• Direct your team’s priority & tasking to align with Company Strategic and Regional Objectives
• Sponsoring customer visits, attending & presenting at trade shows and seminars
• Manage staffing & headcount to deliver high-quality & zero-defect output
• Comprehend your regional customers’ applications and markets to clearly articulate their needs, and opportunities to the internal teams
• Own the training of your team
• Building and maintaining relationships with customer; gaining the trust of our customers to become their technical interface

• As a member of the Global Applications Engineering core team, they will participate with other managers in establishing the organization’s strategic plans and objectives while ensuring that structures, processes, and systems align to sponsor those objectives
• Able to work through problems systematically and document the findings
• Strong dedication to Quality & Continuous Improvement
• Strong background with mechanical or electrical systems with ability to read and interpret technical documents including drawings, blueprints, product specifications
• A quick study, able to grasp business and technological issues and frame them in a way that enables the organization to meet the opportunity. Ability to deal with conflicts and make decisions
• Knowledge of mechatronic systems is a plus
• Knowledge of Semiconductor Equipment manufacturing is a plus
